The rising Winter Solstice sun rises above the Red Mountain in the Boyne Valley, County Meath, Ireland. As the sun rises higher, he shines his golden rays through the entrance roofbox portal of Brú na Bóinne - Newgrange. This mystical occurrence takes place for up to 19 days at the time of Winter Solstice and has done for over 5,500 years.
